Mannheim, Germany – Indie developer, Jan Essig today is proud to announce the release and immediate availability of Toby Tarsier’s Eye Fitness Workout 1.0.2, his eyesight workout app for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch devices. The app is a complete eye health training assistant for anyone whose work involves looking at computer screens for extended periods of time, causing tired and dry eyes. Users will find that Toby’s exercises are fun, and take only a short time to complete. The exercises can be performed in the office, on the train, or at home, easily fitting into even the busiest person’s daily routine.
Toby Tarsier’s Eye Fitness Workout is based on a method developed by Dr. William Bates, which claims to help vision improve naturally. With continuous training, eye irritations – such as burning, itchy, watery and red eyes – can soon become a thing of the past. Users will find that just a short five-minute eyesight workout in the morning, again at midday, and once more at night, relaxes the eyes and eye muscles, helping to maintain good vision health. With regular training, the exercises could possibly even improve the user’s eyesight. The workout includes 14 exercises, which are beautifully illustrated and animated, along with seven small “tasks” designed to benefit healthy eyesight.
“Toby Tarsier is the ninth new app I’ve developed in 2015, in addition to creating regular updates for apps I already had in the App Store,” says developer Jan Essig. “I realized my eyesight was getting worse during the past months, due to the long hours spent in front of my computer monitor. My wife did some research, and found several exercises to help keep my eyes fit. That was the catalyst that set me to work on this app. I think Toby Tarsier’s Eye Fitness Workout will be a great help for everybody who stares at a computer screen for extended periods of time. Users will find the information – along with its exercises, animations, and functions – a great help on their road to good eye health!”

In addition to the 14 exercises, the app also features seven tasks for users to follow along with, such as following Toby as he moves around the screen. Also included are helpful tips for maintaining healthy eyes – such as many people don’t know that taking a walk in the fresh air is good for the eyes, as well as the rest of the body. Healthy eating tips are also a part of the Toby Tarsier app, offering helpful nutrition advice for maintaining good eye health. (Kale, cabbage, rocket, and spinach are good sources of vitamin C and also contain lutein, which helps protect the eyes.)
Knowing the proper eye exercises to perform isn’t of any help if the user forgets to do them, so the app also includes a helpful reminder functions that allows users to receive thrice-daily prompts to perform their eye exercises. The app also includes a fun and entertaining story about how Toby Tarsier – the app’s fun-loving mascot that guides users through their exercises – came to be.
