Litchfield, Illinois – Optimac, Inc. today is pleased to announce the release and immediate availability of LOC 2.4, an important update to their popular location-based chat app for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch devices. LOC offers iOS users worldwide the ability to have conversations with each other without language barriers. LOC does not require users to friend, follow, or connect in order to chat.

LOC offers real-time translation between 90 different languages. Language translation is done on-the-fly, with no noticeable lag. Users can chat with other users from around the world and rely on LOC to translate all messages into the user’s native language. Users merely enable translation in the app’s settings, and LOC takes care of the rest.

LOC can be used to:
* Chat with friends and family
* Meet new people from around the world
* Communicate at conferences
* Collaborate with business colleagues
* Businesses can attract nearby customers
* Get live updates about breaking news from people who are there
* Users can share their location and get help when they need it

“There is an abundance of chat apps for iOS devices, but they are limited by language or social connection barriers,” explains Scott Gardner, iOS app developer, author, and industry speaker at Optimac, Inc. “When I set out to develop LOC, I wanted to enable global conversations, while still respecting user privacy. In LOC, you can truly chat with anyone, anywhere, anytime, without sharing your personal information.”

Users can find and join chats on topics or at locations that they’re interested in, or create their own. LOC is fast, secure, and easy to use. Chats appear on the map where they are created. Inactive chats will disappear from the map after approximately one day of inactivity. Active chats will keep on going.

Users can choose to watch multiple conversations, and can jump back into chats directly from their Watching List. It’s quick and easy to toggle watching on and off from the action button in the top right-hand corner of a chat. Users can also swipe left on any watched chat in their Watching list to stop watching it.

LOC also allows users to invite others to join them in a chat via their social networks, email, a text message, and more. Simply tap the action button in a chat and then Share. If an invited party already has LOC installed on their device, they’ll jump directly into the chat. If they don’t have the app installed, they’ll be taken directly to the App Store, where they can install the app and then join the chat.

LOC version 2.4 adds translations of the app’s user interface for Chinese (Simplified and Traditional), German, Spanish (Mexico and Spain), Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese (Brazil and Portugal), and Russian. Users can now share their location in a chat by tapping the action button in the top right of a chat and then selecting Location. The new version also includes additional improvements to improve the user experience.

“LOC makes it as easy to chat with people from around the world as it is neighbors across the street. Stay in touch with friends and family. Meet new people who share similar interests, even if you don’t speak the same language, all while protecting your personal information,” continues Scott. “There are endless possibilities with LOC, and I am excited to see what people come up with!”
