Moscow, Russian Federation – Independent developer, Roman Sokolov today is pleased to announce the release and immediate availability of Expanse 1.0.1 for Macintosh, an update to its popular application that allows users to access their iTunes video library from anywhere in the world. Using an ordinary Internet browser, Expanse seamlessly syncs with portable devices and computers including Android and Windows. Expanse gives users the ability to download and view videos from their iTunes library on any HTML5-supported device. Using the iTunes library as a source of Movies and TV Shows, Expanse also provides the option to create video podcasts.

With the update to Expanse, users can subscribe to podcasts on any gadget by utilizing a podcatcher application like Instacast. Once the subscription is configured in the podcatcher application, new “episodes” and videos are automatically downloaded to the user’s device every 24 hours. The user can also complete a full scan of the iTunes library more frequently.

Expanse possesses an easy-to-use interface and simplified set-up. The Main Menu automatically sorts the video library into four categories (All Movies, 20 Most Recent, 20 Most Recent Unwatched, 20 Least Recent Unwatched) so searches for content are effortless. The Settings Menu offers the option to set preferences of video quality (SD, 720p, or 1080p) for podcast subscriptions. Users can choose to access Expanse in the “Local network” or “Local network and Internet” modes to safely and securely view their video library.
