Kuching, Malaysia – Indie developer Dylestorm Productions (a member of Team NEETBytes) has released its debut defense-strategy game I.R.I.S – DefOp for iOS devices. In I.R.I.S – DefOp, the player assumes the role as Erika, a pilot from Angels Corp tasked with retrieving Project I.R.I.S from a secret lab located west of Borneo Island. The player must defend the secret lab from enemy invasion, using only beam gates and a limited defensive move that destroys any enemies surrounding the base – the Pulse Bomb. In order to increase the chances of survival, players must manage and decide on the various upgrades available.
With five levels (known as “days” in-game) of difficulty, a variety of enemies to destroy, and beautifully hand drawn graphics, I.R.I.S – DefOp will provide fans of the defense-strategy game subgenre an enjoyable challenge to finish the game. I.R.I.S – DefOp is actually the prequel of another game that is currently under development by Dylestorm Productions and players can in fact get a sneak peek of this after surviving the fifth day. There’s also an Easter Egg hidden within the game’s logo, although it may not be obvious until the end of the game.
Lester Jerah, the developer behind I.R.I.S – DefOp says that he will be updating the game with new contents in the coming months. While the actual content of the update is not yet finalized, he mentioned that it will be different from the current core mechanics of the game, giving players more options and varieties.
