With FTranProjectBuilder, programmers can write and run simple or complex programs using any Mac Fortran compiler without resorting to cumbersome tools not dedicated to Fortran or the Mac. Its clean, single window interface makes it easy to edit and manage any number of project files, build executables with a single click, and run within the window’s own console view. A simple built-in lab notebook lets the programmer keep track of progress and results.

Version 2 breaks with the tradition of file focused code development and encourages writing modern F2003+ code by adding autocomplete and inquiry functions. The new context sensitive autocomplete feature suggests appropriate variables, procedures, derived type components and type bound procedures as the user types. The new inquiry functions show variable, procedure, type and module definitions in a popover view without having to jump to other files. Developed to work with any Mac Fortran compiler (not included), FTranProjectBuilder configures itself by scanning for installed compilers and presents them in an easy to use pull-down menu. Use a different compiler for each project, or easily switch between compilers to compare performance.

It runs on Macs with an Intel processor, Mac OS X 10.7+, and at least one Fortran compiler installed.
