Fleming Island, Florida – iVinnyApps today is pleased to announce the release and immediate availability of Qikshare 7.0, a major update to its popular file sharing app for iOS devices. Qikshare offers cross platform file sharing to users of iOS devices and Android devices, plus it even allows sharing of files with Windows and Mac users via a handy web-based app.

Although AirDrop is a convenient and easy way to share files between iOS devices and even some late-model Macs, Qikshare takes file sharing one step farther by allowing users to share files, photos, videos, and contacts with anyone nearby, no matter which popular mobile or desktop platform they use. Any nearby users with Qikshare open automatically show up as “nearby,” allowing users to easily send and receive files to and from those users. Although Qikshare automatically finds other nearby users, file transfers cannot be completed unless both users agree to accept the files. This adds a layer of security to any file transfers, keeping unwanted files off of a user’s device.

Now in version 7.0, Apple Watch users can now select any of their photos to send to another Qikshare users, without ever needing to take their iPhone out of their pocket. Anyone can simply scroll through their photos right on their Apple Watch, until they find the one they want to share, and with a quick tap, they can send the photo directly to another Qikshare user’s device.

“While there were other ways for users to share files, I wanted to create an easier way for users to share photos and other types of documents with their friends, no matter what platform their device ran on,” says Qikshare developer Alan Gonzalez. “With Qikshare, it has never been easier to share files. Plus, with the new Apple Watch functionality, Watch users can share images directly from their wrists without the need to remove their iPhone from their pocket!”

Qikshare also includes the ability to create and manage folders from within the app, allowing users to manage files they receive from other users. Files can be moved to categorized folders, which is quite handy for those using the app for transfers of files to and from business partners and contacts.

As well as direct device-to-device or device-to-desktop sharing of files, Qikshare 7.0 also supports file sharing and viewing via Dropbox and Microsoft OneDrive. Users simply link their Dropbox or Microsoft OneDrive account to Qikshare, and they gain the ability to instantly view and send files, allowing them to share any files that they have stored in either cloud storage service. This feature allows users to share their files with other users, even if they have them stored in the cloud.

Users can simply go to the share menu where they would normally share a photo via a message or email, or via a popular social networking platform, and scroll all the way to the right and tap on “More.” All that’s needed then is to simply switch on “Qikshare” to enable sharing for the app. Users can then select the files they want to send and then tap on Qikshare in the menu. The file will be sent to any nearby Qikshare user they select.
